Upper-Ob grayling (Thymallus nikolskyi)

The species lives in the upper reaches of the Ob River - in the Biya, Katun and Chuya rivers, as well as in Lake Teletskoye with its tributaries Bashkaus and Chulyshman.

The scale cover is silver. On the sides of the body, between the head and the dorsal fin, there are several black oval spots. The gill covers, pectoral, anal and caudal fins are gray. The pelvic fins have 4-5 oblique red stripes. Along the base of the dorsal fin there are 4-5 rows of rounded scarlet-red spots. The top row of the spots does not merge with a narrow edge line of the same color.
